Accessibility

Our commitment

We design and build the website to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our target standard. Accessibility is treated as a requirement, not an afterthought: readable colour contrast, keyboard-operable controls with visible focus, labelled form fields and buttons, proper heading structure, a "skip to content" link, and dialogs that manage focus.

What we do

• body text meets at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and interactive elements are operable by keyboard alone;
• the interface supports both light and dark colour schemes and respects your system preference;
• content reflows and remains usable on small screens and at higher zoom levels;
• the site is available in several languages;
• we review accessibility as part of building and changing the interface.

Known limitations

Better Trove Tools is a free project maintained by one person in spare time, so it hasn't had a formal third-party accessibility audit. Some areas - particularly complex interactive tools such as the 3D model viewers, the star-chart planner, and data-heavy tables - may not yet be fully accessible with every assistive technology. We fix reported barriers as quickly as we reasonably can.
